Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks. How far is to far?
Kevin Smith has slipped out of favour recently in the eyes of fans. After serving as Writer/Director and co star in cult comedy classics Clerks, Chasing Amy and Dogma the slightly rotund geek boy slipped with the vacuous Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and sealed his fate with the weak kneed Jersey Girl.

Sure he’s had some gigs since appearing in Die Hard 4.0 and Directing the pilot episode of the under appreciated Reaper series. Now many hope that after rumours of him scoring gigs writing for Heroes and Battlestar Galactica fell through his latest big screen comedy will satisfy jones for a solid Smith fix.

The film Zack and Miri Make a Porno sees longtime pals Zack (Seth Rogen) and Miri (Elizabeth Banks) decide to make a skin flick in order to score some extra bread. As happens over the course of the production the pair find out they actually “love” each other.

Assembling a supporting cast of regulars Jay himself Jason Mewes turns up in the part of Lester. Jeff “Randle” Anderson is Deacon. Horror lord Tom Savini also shows his face.
This week saw the release of the official trailer on quickstopentertainment.com and it had me laughing. Low brow and foul mouthed as you would expect from Smith’s rejection of the sappier Jersey Girl scripting, it’s time for casting.
