Our first taste of cinematic promise
I'm not sure how long this pic has been online but it is the only one available for the upcoming adaption of the childrens book Where the Wild Things Are. The excitement is rising for this sentimental gem even though the release date is not till October 2008 and I couldn't resist sharing this first enticing image.
An unprecedented favourite for many (including me) the big screen adaptation has all the credentials to be a classic. Directed and adapted for the screen by gifted outsider stylist Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and a cavalcade of cutting edge music videos) and starring Forest Whitaker (Ghost Dog), Catherine Keener (Lovely and Amazing), Catherine O Hara (Waiting for Guffman), Tom Noonan (Manhunter) and Paul Dano (Little Miss Sunshine)
As a treat here is an animated adaptation that will trigger memories for many.

How did he get the rights?! Surely they most have been some of the most sought after rights in the movie/literary world!!!
Live action huh? intriguing ...
cast sounds good .... but damn, this is a very very fond children's book of mine, like millions of other people
