Sesame Street is not for kids anymore!

I watched Sesame Street fanatically when I was a kid, loving everything about it. The crazy invisibleness of Snuffalupagus or the bottomless pit of Oscar's garbage can... the friendly shopkeepers and the hotness of that Spanish lady.
It was good times, but apparently, our good times are no longer appropriate for today's kids.
Yes! Luckily, CBS is there for us!
Old Sesame Street episodes are no longer appropriate for today's kids
For example: little kids riding bikes without helmets! Kids in construction sites! Kids jumping on beds! What will the church elders make of this?
""These early Sesame Street episodes are intended for grownups and may not suit the needs of today's preschool child," the warning reads."
Oh. I see.
What? Get outta here. Don't you think we're taking this too far? Are we really this protective of our kids that we worry about the colour of fictional monsters? What else you got?
""In the very first episode, Gordon takes a little girl's hand who he's just met on the street, befriends her and takes her into his home to give her ice cream," Rollins Westin said. "That's something we wouldn't do on the show today." "
Oh... yeah, that's a little creepy...

Oh. I see.
"Oscar turned green in season two, but some of today's producers thought the early Oscar might be too grouchy. And cookie monster … well his diet is a problem when today's parents are worried about childhood obesity.
He also smoked a pipe in one sketch - ate it too. Still ... none of these parents thought the old episodes needed a warning. "

D, what can you do? I think we're all to blame... in our push to remove racism and sexism from TV, we've whitewashed the media...
Lilla, I'm not sure if this has to do with the Church, or just the TV networks reflecting modern times.
Something similar: I rewatched an Eddie Murphy stand up recently, I think it was Delirious... he starts making jokes about gays and AIDS, and I didn't think it was funny, just offensive. Isn't that odd?
