A few weeks ago huntfamous.com reported on plans by Guy Ritchie to reinvent the Sherlock Holmes franchise. In that same article we mentioned that a new crime comedy in the vein of Ritchie’s Lock Stock and Snatch was due for release later this year.

Now courtesy of Empire Online the first official trailer for RocknRolla has arrived and it looks promising. A collision of Russian Gangsters and British hoods is triggered by a shady land deal and an art heist. Greed and pride ignite the underworld into a dash for 7 million dollars that sees double crossing, bullets, insults and pain traded amongst bad men.

Scheduled to arrive in Australian on November 27th 2008 the film stars Gerard Butler (300), Tom Wilkinson (Michael Clayton), Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace), Jeremy Piven (Entourage) and Thandie Newton (MI2).
