Redd Foxx likes Colt 45

Mmmm! There's nothing better than a tall glass of Colt .45 on a hot summer's day. The way the malt smell rises from the glass, or the jingle-jangle of $8 in change from the tenner you used to buy it with.
That's right, Colt .45 is a malt liquor popular in parts of America - parts that people with fancy cars tend to avoid - and it's a vile, rancid drink.
Sure, I had part of a bottle when I was back in Canada, but that's because five of us split it like we were down with the malt. After a couple of sips, though, I couldn't stomach it any more.
Redd Foxx, pictured above, was a spokesperson for the malt liquor. Along with Billy Dee Williams, Colt .45 started their marketing towards African Americans, realizing that they could start a whole new stereotype by selling malt liquor in giant bottles at low prices.
Foxx was known for his role on Sanford and Son, where his Colt .45 fixation gave him the fuel to summon up the anger:
