I can't believe film critics and buffs have come up with oscar predictions already. Most of these films aren't even out yet. Anyway, here they are, oscar predictions 2007 for Best Actor and Actress. Gives us an idea of what's being hyped up in the coming months.

Brad Pitt - Babel

Sean Penn - All the King's Men

Forrest Whitaker - The Last King of Scotland

Russell Crowe - A Good Year

Damon, Dicaprio, Nicolson w/e - The Departed

Will Smith - Pursuit of Happiness

Will Ferrell - Stranger than Fiction

Nicolas Cage - World Trade Centre

Ryan Gosling - Half Nelson (!!!)

Jamie Foxx - Dreamgirls

Jude Law - Breaking and Entering

Christian Bale - The Prestige

*phew* and now for the women.

Best Actress

Meryl Streep - The Devil Wears Prada

Annette Benning - Running with Scissors

Penelope Cruz - Volver

Ashley Judd - Bug

Renee Zellwegger - Miss. Potter

edward, i'm pretty sure out of those 15 or so films, there would definitely be at least one or two that will be shortlisted for the awards. my own prediction is that Little Miss Sunshine will be in contention for Best Original/Adapted Screenplay.
