Nicole Kidman when she was 16

This is the same girl that went to Lane Cove Public School and North Sydney Girls... her first movie role was in a movie called "BMX Bandits", an Australian movie featuring the cool radness of BMX bikes. Gnarly!
The above picture is from that movie, featuring Kidman and a huge 'fro. Freckles too!
To be honest, I don't think I've seen Kidman give a sincere smile like that in years... every public appearance has her features frozen in place, like a simple smile might undo the magical bindings that hold her together, releasing a deadly minotaur from her skull, rampaging and killing all of her fans.
None of that was true, but it wouldn't surprise you, would it?
Well, Kidman is a Companion of the Order of Australia, which means that she's responsible for the public good. The Order is something like a low-level Justice League of America, with fewer superpowers, but with more Oscar acceptance speeches.

You'll never believe this, but I was working in the hairdressers (then called the Hairum) at Waringah Mall (in Sydney), when they were filming BMX Bandits. Nicole had her hair done in the salon and do you know... not one person in there knew who she was ((laughs)) fame is a strange thing, I think.
Wow, this takes me waaaaaaayyyy back.
Do you know, to this day, I have never watched the film?
I think I'll go and try and get it out now and finally do just that!
