New Bill and Ted’s Film on the way.

Bill and Ted's Bogus rehash?
Before you think that this is just another prank like yesterday’s “crafty” Jake as Spidey post, forget it. This one is real news.
Don’t get too excited though, it’s not a reuniting of the original Wyld Stallyns Keanu Reeves (River’s Edge) and Alex Winter (Lost Boys) but instead is the first part in a planned straight to DVD series.
Moviehole.net is reporting that MGM will be returning with more strange things afoot at the circle-K. Recasting the leads and integrating new historical figures into the fold like Calamity Jane and Ghandi. The plot sounds pretty much the same in a broad strokes sense, as in two high school buddies get a phone that allows them to travel through time.
One monumental difference is that the band Wyld Stallyns are no more and instead are to be replaced with Atomic Gorrillas. Moviehole also says that that the script has been updated for modern audiences and contains far less “whoa’s” and “awesome’s”. Shamefully they also follow the try-hard-hip-rules-of-engagem ent with a bunch of pop culture references splattered throughout the dialogue.
No news yet on casting who will play the pair of “gnarly dudes”. Due to the low rent budget and zero expectations inferred by a non theatrical release the players will probably hail from Television. I don’t know exactly why but in my mind Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli in Heroes) seems like he could easily become a Keanu clone. As for his blonde partner in crime, your guess is as good as mine.
So is this the dumbest idea in eons, or just another pathetic attempt to cash in on a sub-standard franchise that in no way demands a revisit? After all provaocative comic legend George Carlin (Dogma) as Rufus and steely William Sadler (Wonderfalls) as death were the only things that kept me interested the first time round.
Here’s a fun little send up clip, it’s Bill and Ted’s Brokeback Adventure

Considering Keanu is not going to be in the film I don't think he could. But he still does have a boyish look to his face. he still amazes me in River Edge.
