As we all know, the 'beloved' Mel Gibson was arrested recently for drink driving in Hollywood where he also launched a verbal attack on the sheriff who pulled him over. He admitted he insulted the officer but declined to reveal what exactly it was that he said.
"I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am deeply ashamed of everything I said and I apologize to anyone who I have offended," said the star who used to attend AA meetings.
But according to some reports, this is what he said to the officer, "F***ing Jews. The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world." He then asked the deputy, "Are you a Jew?"
All this was captured on tape. Although he has issued an apology and a retraction of his remarks, Jewish groups have called for Mel Gibson to be ostracized from Hollywood and be investigated for any breach of race hate laws after his drunken anti-Semitic outburst.
The group's national director Abraham H. Foxman said, "It appears that the combination of liquor and arrest has revealed his true character. We believe there should be consequences to bigots and bigotry. One way to combat bigots is to put a price on bigotry. I would hope that if this is in fact true, that his colleagues condemn him and distance themselves from him."
I personally think he is an idiot for letting this happen. Who shoots the most controversial movie of the century about Jesus Christ and spews out shit like that? Doesn't the word 'reputation' and 'integrity' mean anything anymore?
