Skilled Director Robert Redford (Quiz Show, Ordinary People, Milagro Beanfield War) also stars as a professor in this multi tiered tale of intrigue about the repercussions politically and in the media when a crisis erupts in Afghanistan.
This looks like an interesting story, the script by Matthew Michael Carnahan (The Kingdom) shows promise but the title is just to lame to ignore. Sadly Tom Cruise (Risky Business, Taps) looks like he drags the whole thing down as a politician doing his usual hand waving schtick. Meryl Streep (Deer Hunter) also appears as a journalist.
The sort of film that will probably win an Oscar for subject instead of content
