Geek god Joss Whedon, the man responsible for Buffy, Angel and Firefly has had fans in a frenzy ever since it was announced his web musical Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog would premiere online in July.

The teaser trailer released a little while back is high camp funny. Former Doogie Howser Neil Patrick Harris plays Dr Horrible, a sheepish and nervous super villain who just wants to impress his dream laundry-mat girl Penny (Felicia Day).

Dr Horrible’s nemesis is Captain Hammer, a super hero who fights for truth and justice often pounding the poor Doctor as part of his heroic duties. One time Captain of the Serenity Dragonfly Nathan Fillion is the one hamming it up as Hammer.

Divided into three 14 minute chapters with a total running time of 42 minutes, the first instalment of Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog will be screening on the official site July 15th. The second part will arrive on July 17th and the finale is due July 19th.
