Jerry Seinfeld is the new face of Microsoft?

Yadda, Yadda Yadda…Microsoft.
An article in The Wall Street Journal reports that Jerry Seinfeld has been hired by the software overlord’s Microsoft in a bid to remove the stigma of stuffiness surrounding the omnipotent ruler of desktops around the world.
Designed to answer the hipper branding of Apple, the PC Giant announced plans for a 300 million dollar advertising campaign. Seinfeld himself is rumoured to be making 10 million for his time. The ads will feature the comedian bantering with recently retired Bill Gates.
Aimed at promoting the glitch filled Vista platform, Jerry is no stranger to peddling wears. Liberally mentioning Dunkin Donuts, the Junior Mint and a host of others on his highly successful show, his presence in a series of American Express adverts a few years ago met with success and may have played a part in this latest gig.
As several blogs have pointed out there is an irony to the news, considering whenever a computer was seen during the 9 year run of Seinfeld, he was always using a Mac!
So do think that Jerry’s face will tap into a younger market, after all the primary aim of this decision seems to be to answer the high profile Justin Long Mac ads.
