Brand New dark Knight Trailer and Posters
A fan of the bat detective all my life, I can’t help but be swept up in the latest addition to the cinema screen. When you add to that the fact that Christopher “I directed Memento” Nolan is coordinating the bat action through the bat cam, I go bat crazy.
After months of speculation and false alert fan made trailers, finally the Joker is wild. Like many, I have my reservations about Heath “mumbles” Ledger and his coy mannerisms but from this juicy clip it seems the part is well written and thankfully as dark as the Frank Miller graphic novel.
Christian Bale (The Last Emperor, The Machinist, The Prestige) was appropriately broody in the original and by the looks of this he gets to continue expanding his emotionally distant, detached inner rage persona. A psychologically complex charisma he has been refining since the role of Patrick Bateman.
Gary Oldman (True Romance, Leon The Professional) also returns as Commissioner Gordon as do Morgan Freeman (Se7en) and Michael Caine (Get Carter, Ipcress File)
Katie Cruise’s pout, petite eye lash flickering stopped Batman Begins in it’s tracks, thankfully replaced by the bold Maggie Gylenhaaul (Secretary, Donnie Darko).
Star on the rise Aaron Eckhart (In the Company of Men, Thank You For Smoking) is also on the cast list as the conflicted Harvey “Two face” Dent.
Here it is. Take a look at this caped crusading trailer for yourselves!
As if the trailer weren’t enough, the good people at Warner Brothers have deemed it timely to reveal a pair of Joker-centric poster artworks too. The essence of smiling menace accentuated by the bold colours, I like it!
The gloss of the images is appropriate for the marketing campaign but I do hope the film isn’t quite so shiny. The world of the caped avenger is a foreboding dark and gloomy city of sin.
