The Wolfman Howls again
Recently filming began of the upcoming Universal Pictures remake of monster classic The Wolfman. The production had a few flea problems early on when perfectionist Director Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) pulled out of the project due to budget restrictions.
Determined to move ahead Joe Johnson (Rocketeer, October Sky) was given a whistle and showed up with tail wagging to hold the leash. This may seem like a strange project to get all itchy and scratchy about until you know that ethereal cool dude Benicio Del Toro (Usual Suspects, 21 Grams, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) is starring in the title role.
Packing facial features that made him an obvious choice, thanks to Entertainment Weekly we now get our first look at the man in his K9 makeup. Exceeding expectations Benicio looks fantastic, which isn’t surprising when you find out that Visual make Up Effects legend Rick Baker (An American Werewolf in London) is responsible.
The film is written by Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en, Sleepy Hollow) which adds to the potential of the piece and co stars Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving.
