Anti-American sentiment on the rise

How do you measure sentiment?
With the magical powers of surveys!
An article in Forbes today suggest that anti-Americanism is on the rise, due to the Bush administration's awkward juggling of pretending to be a government.
It's hardly surprising, given the fallout from the invasion of Iraq: it was sold to the public as a drive-by, in-and-out in three minutes, just like microwave popcorn. Of course, we're all seeing the realities of invading another country.
If there's something to be learned from the invasion, it's that, in the modern world, you cannot invade a country and let it grow back... underground insurgency will fight against you every step of the way. The only way to gain stability is to get old school, get medieval, and install a totalitarian government.
If that happens, support for the current administration will plummet. Even in America, Bush's approval rating is at a laughable low... can you imagine what it must be like in antagonistic countries, especially in Europe and the Middle-East?
Well, I'll tell you. Based on the survey results:
In the UK, 30% of respondents had faith in The Mighty Bush.
In France, 15%.
In Germany, 25%
In Spain, just 7% of the population.
The reaction of this has several consequences, of which one is reduced support for NATO. Once a security council, people are starting to think it's a loosely-organized sheath for a penetrative American sword.
Well.
You should travel to America sometime. It's a beautiful country, with varied landscapes and stunning scenery. If you talk to people, you'll encounter a huge variety of opinions, and it's both enlightening and hilarious at the same time.
