The New Bond Villain is…Al Pacino?

The Godfather of Bond Villians
The role of James Bond villain has often ended up as iconic as that of the superspy himself. Thespian talents like Donald Pleasance, Robert Shaw, Christopher Lee, Yaphet Kotto and Christopher Walken have all made their mark as maniacal Evil doers bent on world domination.
HoooHaaa, Now comes an unsubstantiated rumour from Aintitcool.com that says Al Pacino, the former Corleone Godfather will be the ultimate bane in 007’s latest assignment known as “Quantum of Solace.”
The idea of Tony Montana staring down Daniel Craig’s Bond is an interesting, slightly unusual one. I assume Pacino’s role will be the target of Bond’s revenge, playing the master engineer behind the death of lover Vesper Lynd (Eva green) in Casino Royale?
Pacino has made a career out of inhabiting villainous characters, the aforementioned Godfather and Scarface being the most famous. Adding a Bond film at this stage in his filmography seems like a good idea, especially with some of the more questionable films he has appeared in recently. (Eg: Gigli)
I’m still not convinced the gossip is true but could it work, sure. Is it going to happen, who knows? But for today at least we can dream of a scene where Daniel Craig has just bested a dozen bad guys, rounds a corner to come face to face with an automatic weapon in the hands of Al who immediately says, “Say hello to my little friends”…
