News is that Tom Cruise (or Denzel Washington or whoever it is) has been dethroned as the highest paid actor in Hollywood. Ascending to the crown now is Chris Tucker, who is set to earn $25 million for starring in Rush Hour 3.
Whether or not Rush Hour 3 is made or not, Chris Tucker will still be paid due to the 'play or pay' nature of the deal. The amazing part of this is that Chris Tucker's movie career is strictly limited to the Rush Hour franchise, thus making his pay rate an achievement in itself.
Jackie Chan is probably seething with jealousy, since he does most of his stunts on the movie while all Chris Tucker does is stand on one side and crack jokes. But then again, how can anyone ever justify giving that much money to someone when a monkey can amuse me equally (and would probably do it for free)?
